This Privacy Policy explains how East Mesa Karate (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects and uses information when you interact with us, including through our website and text-message program. East Mesa Karate uses BudoHQ as its software and messaging platform to operate these services.

Information we collect

We collect information you give us — such as your name, phone number, email, and details about your interest in our classes — when you fill out a form, sign up for texts, enroll, or contact us. We also collect basic technical information (such as IP address and browser/user agent) needed to operate and secure our forms and to record your consent.

How we use your information

We use your information to respond to you, schedule and manage classes and appointments, process enrollment and payments, and — where you have opted in — to send you text messages and email.

Text Messaging (SMS)

East Mesa Karate can send text messages to members, parents, and prospective students who have opted in — through a form on our website (including our text sign-up page), in person at sign-up, on a paper sign-up form, or by texting us directly. Transactional and marketing messages are opted into separately. By opting in you agree to receive messages such as class and appointment reminders, account and billing notices, and schedule changes; and, if you opt into marketing, occasional promotions.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate — such as our software/messaging platform (BudoHQ), our SMS provider (Twilio), our payment processor, and our email provider — and only as needed to provide the services you requested, or as required by law. As stated above, mobile phone numbers and SMS consent are never shared or sold to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing.
